Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls - credit Ben MorseEdit

The amazing Frank Turner is back in the fields with us! He is our most requested artist and we’re thrilled to have Million Dead singer turned folk troubadour Frank Turner headlining our Saturday night!

His solo career began where Million Dead left off, and since then he has achieved cult status as a singer-songwriter. ‘Recovery’ made 7th in Zane Lowe’s Hottest Record of 2013 on Radio 1 beating off tracks by Kings of Leon, Killers and Queens of the Stone Age. Now, both in the studio and live, he’s accompanied by his brilliant backing band, The Sleeping Souls, consisting of Ben Lloyd (guitar, mandolin), Tarrant Anderson (bass), Matt Nasir (piano) and Nigel Powell (drums).

His set in 2011 had the whole of the main stage sitting down then jumping up to his much-loved hit (and a fave in the Kendal Office too!) ‘Photosynthesis’. We can’t wait for his return and third performance at Kendal Calling.
