Baggy Mondays began in 2002 at London’s Heavenly Social, where it’s now the longest-running night. With its party-starting mix of Madchester classics from The Happy Mondays, The Charlatans, The Stone Roses, 808 State, Inspiral Carpets and wotnot, it soon became famed for its friendly, up-for-it crowd (which, over the years has included members of Kasabian and Kings Of Leon).

In 2007, Baggy Mondays made its debut at Glastonbury Festival, where it’s now the traditional Thursday night headliner in The Park, filling its tent with thousands of grinning Bez wannabes. With Penrith-born music journalist and DJ Chris Salmon at the helm, Baggy Mondays is chuffed to be back for a fifth consecutive year of indie disco mayhem at Kendal Calling.
