Static Union are an alt rock band from Glasgow’s South Side. The four came together in 2014, after a chance meeting with 2 of it’s members in a pub in rural Ireland. They have since been honing their songwriting craft, delivering a unique and mature sound despite their young age. The band have also drawn acclaim for their energetic live shows, playing support slots for Yonaka, Holy-Esque and The Ninth Wave, as well as their own packed out headline shows in Glasgow’s King Tuts. They have also been selected for numerous showcases across the UK including Tenement Trail, XpoNorth and even a set at The Royal Albert Hall in London. The band draw strong influence from their love of 80’s post-punk and indie music such as The Cure, Joy Division and The Smiths, more contemporary comparisons have been drawn with bands such as The War on Drugs and Interpol.
