Tropical Soundclash was born in summer 2017 when BBC Radio 6 Music favourite Sam Redmore joined forces with percussionist The Mighty Magoo, formerly of Overproof Soundsystem. Originally teaming up in the studio to record sounds for Sam’s forthcoming debut album, the collaboration spilled out onto the dancefloor in the form of a clubnight launched at the Hare & Hounds in Birmingham and, more recently, The Deaf Institute in Manchester.

Afrobeat, highlife, cumbia, salsa and samba come together with house, broken beat, disco and a healthy dose of bass at Tropical Soundclash, as Sam mans the decks accompanied by the tightest live rhythms around courtesy of Magoo.

With festival bookings at Lunar, Mostly Jazz, Funk & Soul and Shambala in the bag, club bookings across the UK and the studio recordings that kick-started it all still to be released, 2018 is set to be a big year for Tropical Soundclash.
