Joining us in the fields of Kendal Calling this year? Reduce your carbon footprint and peddle to Lowther Deer Park with the team at Red Fox Cycling! Festivals are about experiences. So why not extend your festival weekend this year with an idyllic bike ride across some of England’s most breath-taking landscapes? Meet new lovely people, and get into the festival spirit before you arrive, on an adventurous cycle from Manchester Piccadilly or Rochdale Station to the fields for just £67 per person.
Starting on Wednesday 25th July, join a glorious ride alongthe Rochdale Canal, through the magnificentYorkshire Dales and into the open country and winding lanes of of Cumbria. Taking in picture -postcard villages and charming rivers, and with exciting climbs and exhilarating descents, this is one incredible way to travel in style. Stop over and pitch up your tent in a hand-picked campsite in the Yorkshire Dales or choose‘Camping Plus’. The Red Fox team will provide one of their own tents and pre-pitch it so it’s up and waiting you as you arrive at the campsite. Complete with airbed and travel pillow, naturally, for that bit of extra comfort! (£10 for 1 man tent / £15 for 2 man tent / £20 for 3 man tent / £25 for 4 man tent). Alternatively, stay in style and upgrade to a cosy B&B in Middle Studfold.
The price of the outward ride includes:
- Guided ride
- Support vehicle to carry bags and camping gear
- Mechanical support
- Lunch both days with snacks all the way
- Secure storage of your bike at Kendal Calling over the weekend
- Camping accommodation en route to the festival on Wednesday night (to pitch up your own tent)
To travel home after the festival, either jump in with a friend or the Red Fox Team will take you and your bike back home! Return coach and transfer of your bike back to Manchester / Rochdale on the Monday after the festival costs an additional £23 per person.
The ride is 113 miles if starting from Manchester, 99 from Rochdale. There’ll be a fast and a relaxed pace group, and plenty of breaks, support and snack stops along the way. It’s recommended you’re generally fit, comfortable with hills and capable of cycling 50 miles in a day.
