The Frontier: a new area for live-in vehicles

Introducing The Frontier, a brand new quieter home for more live-in vehicles at Kendal Calling 2019.

We know just how popular our live-in vehicle field is and how much you all enjoy some home comforts whilst being in the fields, so we’ve been bustling away behind the scenes to unveil a new addition to the festival in the glorious fields in front of Lowther Castle. Join us at The Frontier and enjoy a more serene and secluded experience with stunning views to match!

Expanding to new fields is fun but not always straightforward and this has been no exception, with many and varied elements to consider such as traffic management, crop rotation and infrastructure which has taken longer than expected.

We are satisfied and very excited by the current location (Andy was up last week with his bright orange camper testing it out for the night) however we need to be clear that the location is further away than all other campsites. It took our motley crew of 20-55 year olds 10 minutes to walk from The Frontier to the entrance of the original Live-in Vehicles field, which is itself 10-15 minutes walk from the arena, ground conditions dependant. To assist we will be laying on a brand new land train to shorten the route, dropping people off at the entrance to the original Live-in Vehicle field, alternatively it is a very scenic walk!

As with our current live-in vehicle field, you can pitch your awnings and tents within your designated 7x5m pitch space and make yourself at home for the weekend.

Tickets for The Frontier will be on sale Friday 3rd May at 12PM. These have sold out in our waiting list presale are extremely limited so will likely sell out over the next few days.

See you in the fields!
