2020 would have been our fifteenth year partying in the Lake District. Our fifteenth anniversary shared with you all, old friends and new in the most beautiful of surroundings. But instead, heartbreakingly, it won’t.
It was not an easy decision but it is the right decision. Your health and the health of those who work behind the scenes and on the stages is and will always be paramount.
Music, friendship and the great outdoors are going to be more important to us all than ever before as we rebuild our health and communities over the coming months. We will be putting all of our efforts into ensuring that next year’s festival running from the 29th July – 1st August is everything that we had hoped for and more.
Ticket buyers will receive further details via email imminently from their place of purchase regarding the refund options. There will also be the choice to consider keeping your ticket for next year, if you are able and willing. By holding onto your ticket you will be supporting Kendal Calling at this difficult time.
Please be patient with refund requests as ticket outlets are naturally working through a higher than normal number of enquiries. If you are able to keep hold of your ticket, we would ask that you do – your support will allow us to navigate this difficult period.
For now we turn our attentions to 2021 and the festival gathering of a lifetime; we are working behind the scenes with artists and will be looking to announce 2021’s 15th (again!) birthday celebrations lineup in the coming months. It will be a 15th year celebration, 16 years in the making, and a once in a lifetime reconnection of our wonderful festival family. A phrase we first signed off a Facebook post with in 2008 seems more potent than ever and is sent with more love and anticipation than we can put into words… See you in the fields x
Unfortunately Kendal Calling 2020 will not be taking place. We look forward to seeing you at Lowther Deer Park on our new dates of 29 July – 1 August 2021.
If you wish to transfer your ticket and any extras (including boutique camping) to the 2021 festival no further action is required. If you paid via payment plan your order will be valid for next year and you can either continue payments or receive a payment holiday of one year – these options will be available to you via your ticket outlet.
If you’re on a payment plan and booked through our website, you will be able to either continue payments (to pay off your booking in full this summer) or take a payment holiday and resume instalments next year – it’s up to you. Please contact your ticket outlet with your preference.
Yes! All age-specific tickets will be honoured for the age of the ticketholder at the time of purchase, so don’t worry if your little ones aren’t so little any more.
You will receive an e-mail from the ticket outlet you booked through, detailing the refund process. If you are unable to join us in 2021, your refund request will be handled by the ticket outlet directly. If you booked through our website, this is Ticketline.
The refund request portal will be open for 7 days from Monday 11 May – all refund requests must be made within this time frame by Monday 18 May 2020. All refunds will be processed within 90 days from this date.
If the original card used for purchase has expired or been updated, please contact your ticket outlet to update your payment information. If the credit card used for purchase has been cancelled or is now expired, the bank or credit card company will normally automatically reroute the new credit amount issued to the current account or card.
Due to the unprecedented scale of the impact on the events industry from COVID 19 and the cumulative effect of all events processing refunds simultaneously the time frame to receive your refund will be up to 90 days from your request. All parties involved are working incredibly hard to expedite the process to ensure everyone who requests a refund receives it as quickly as possible. We ask that you are patient as our ticket outlets work hard to process an unprecedented number of enquiries.
Please check your spam and or junk folders as occasionally these emails get flagged as such.
Partially refunding an event is a time-consuming manual process. We have spoken at length with our ticketing agencies who are operating on a finite amount of staff resource with a huge and unprecedented workload. They have requested that we ask you not to call and chase refund requests once submitted as every email and call within the 90 days will further slow their team’s ability to process the workload they have.
Please find a statement requesting “patience & kindness” from the Society of Ticket Agents and Retailers HERE
“The Society of Ticket Agents and Retailers asks ticket buyers to be patient and kind, not to flood contact centres with calls and emails and to wait for ticket sellers to contact them regarding exchanges and refunds.”
