In a nutshell, Kendal Calling has 10 campsite areas adjacent to the arena. All campsites surround the arena and are no more than a 10 – 15 minute walk. Click below to find out more about each campsite.

standard camping

Standard camping is included within the price of your weekend ticket and consists of:

Wolf Woods: Right next to the arena, for those who like to party the loudest and latest.

Great Holme: Handily close to the carpark and the Village Green.

The Shire: A quiet and relaxed camping field to the North of the festival site – much bigger since 2018!

Haye Parks: Mountain views located to the left of the live-in vehicle field.

Family Camping / Saddleback View: As it says on the tin! Based on feedback we have rejigged the wristband marquee entrance, opening a new path and moved the family campsite to a field with one of the best views on site of the beautiful Cumbrian landscape! It’s situated within two minutes encumbered walk of you receiving your wristbands. Far less time to carry your campsite essentials from the car to pitch up!

All campsites are filled on a first come, first served basis, there aren’t allocated pitch spaces for your tent. The maximum tent size we allow is an 8 man tent.

We have certain campsites closed on Thursday for those arriving on Friday. We want to ensure that you will be able to secure space in the fields with your friends and family to be able to enjoy the weekend. Our campsite teams will be roaming around to let you know which campsites still have space in once you arrive, and we’ll be tweeting this out on our @inthefieldsLIVE Twitter account, the hub for all essential festival information so be sure to give us a follow!

Please do not bring gazebos or portable toilets with you, we just don’t have the space!

RESPECT THE DEER

Kendal Calling takes place in a 1000 year old Deer Park. The park is home to a herd of Deer who were originally a present from the King (Edward? Henry? Harry? Answers on a postcard!) We are thrilled that we have the opportunity to host the event in such an outstanding natural setting, however we need your help to assure that we can have a future on this site without affecting the deer and wildlife, whos home it is the rest of the year. This ensures the future of the festival at such an amazing location.

So with that said, please adhere to these rules:

  • NO GLASS of any kind is allowed in the Deer Park as smashed glass does not mix well with deer and hoofs.
  • We ask you please DO NOT climb any trees. They are the most part ancient and protected creatures!
  • Do not litter and abandon your possessions whilst you are in the fields, as this is the Deer’s home!

Please be sure to take your tents with you at the end of the weekend. It’s also worth remembering that every last piece of litter is hand picked form the site. Vandalism and littering are not in the nature of our event and will not be tolerated, please help us spread this message to all revellers.
